Aubree Capen, DMD
Passionate Dentist, Outdoors Enthusiast
Dr. Aubree Capen grew up in Alma, Michigan, where she worked at her parents’ convenience store, played volleyball, and competed in cheerleading. With her sights set on dentistry early on, she stayed focused on academics and went on to graduate from Central Michigan University with a degree in Biomedical Sciences and Business. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from A.T. Still University – Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health.

As of August 1, 2025, Dr. Capen is proud to be the new owner of St. Johns Dental Care. After practicing alongside Dr. Connelly for a year, she knew without a doubt that serving the St. Johns community and surrounding areas was where she was meant to be. To her, the patients and staff feel like family, and the use of modern, innovative technology keeps dentistry exciting and rewarding. Dr. Capen is grateful that Dr. Connelly will continue practicing alongside her, and she looks forward to expanding her skills and growing the practice while always providing the best care possible.

Dr. Capen is a member of the Academy of General Dentists and the Michigan Dental Association and remains active in continuing education and advancements in dentistry. She has a strong passion for patient care and a genuine desire to improve people’s oral and overall health.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Capen starts most days with an early morning run, which recharges her and helps her bring her best self to her patients. She also enjoys hiking, camping, and paddle boarding—really anything outdoors—with her husband, Seth, and their beloved Pomeranian, Bear. Most of all, she cherishes family time and looks forward to continuing to serve the greater Mid-Michigan region with compassion, excellence, and a bright smile.

Anyone who knows Dr. Capen knows that she brings the sunshine. She shows up each day with a positive attitude and a smile, living by her motto: “You can’t have a positive life with a negative mindset.”
