Tooth Extractions from the Experts in the Field
Chronic tooth pain is never a good sign and is often a symptom of decay or disease. Losing a natural tooth is less than desirable. However, sometimes a tooth extraction is the only way to rid the mouth of decay, disease, and tooth pain. While tooth extractions are common, we only extract teeth that cannot be saved. Depending on the circumstances, tooth extractions may be necessary to maintain the overall health of the smile or to prepare for dental implants.
With over four decades of experience, Dr. Mark Connelly has completed thousands of tooth extractions using conservative techniques that minimize complications and trauma to the bone and tissue. Don’t live with tooth pain. Schedule an appointment for an evaluation today at St. Johns Dental Care.

Making Extractions Comfortable with Sedation
Relief from pain ultimately follows a tooth extraction, but many patients' biggest concern is the discomfort felt during the extraction procedure itself. At St. Johns Dental Care, our highly-trained staff use pain and anxiety management strategies to guarantee our patients have a comfortable experience. Various sedation options, such as nitrous oxide and oral sedation, are available. For patients requiring a deeper level of sedation, IV sedation is an option.
Dr. Mark Connelly is certified to perform IV sedation at St. Johns Dental Care. By incorporating advanced techniques and sedation options most patients report only minimal pressure during the tooth extraction procedure. Sometimes a socket preservation is performed by filling the empty space with bone or other synthetic material to reduce bone loss. This procedure may help qualify patients for dental implants.
